Documentation chatbot

Turn your documentation into an AI chatbot that answers with sources

Readers shouldn't have to open five pages to find one answer. Aidfolk reads your docs site, manuals and notes, answers questions in plain language, and links to the exact page, and the page number in a PDF, that it used.

Sound familiar?

The problem

Search finds pages, not answers

Keyword search lists every page that mentions a word. Readers want the one sentence that answers their question.

Manuals nobody reads

Long PDFs hold the details that matter, and almost no one scrolls to page 47 to find them.

No idea what readers can't find

Your docs team writes in the dark: there's no list of the questions people asked and didn't get answered.

The answer

How Aidfolk helps

Citations to the exact page

Answers list their sources: web pages with a link, and documents with the section and page numbers.

Reads your docs as they are

It follows your docs site's links or sitemap, and reads files: PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, HTML, MD, TXT, CSV, ODT, RTF, EPUB.

Answers in the reader's language

Your docs can be in English and a reader can ask in Spanish: the answer comes back in Spanish, from your English pages.

A backlog written by your readers

Unanswered questions and the most asked questions show where your documentation needs a page.

Setup

What to give your agent

Start with the content your customers already read. You can add more any time.

  • Your documentation or help center site
  • PDF and Word manuals, handbooks and guides
  • Release notes and migration guides
  • Notes for definitions, edge cases and FAQs

Questions an agent like this answers

  • How do I install the command-line tool on Windows?
  • What does error E1042 mean?
  • Which settings does a production setup need?
  • Where's the guide to migrating from version 2 to 3?
  • Is there a limit on file uploads?

Documentation: common questions

Does the chatbot keep up when we change our docs?

When you update a page, read it again with one click (or a whole site with “Read all again”). The old text keeps answering until the new text replaces it, so there's never a gap.

Can it read PDFs and show which page an answer came from?

Yes. PDFs and other documents keep their page numbers, and answers cite them, like “Admin guide › Roles, p. 3”. Scanned PDFs need a text layer, since images of text can't be read.

What about docs sites built with JavaScript?

Aidfolk reads the HTML a page sends. If your docs only render in the browser, add them as files (an export of your docs) instead.

Can readers ask in other languages?

Yes. The agent replies in the language of the question, using your content whatever language it's written in.
